What to do when someone tells you that they no longer love you.?
I was getting ready to propose to my girlfriend one week from today. A couple of days ago we had gone out to dinner and after wards she looked me in the eyes and told me that she no longer has the same feeling for me like she use to and that she no longer loves me. She said that she hopes that we can be friends. I have the ring with me and have been staring at it ever since a couple of days ago. i have cried every night for the past couple of days, since she has told me that and don’t know how to go about living. When you have been with someone for a few years and have formed a life with that person and have given all of yourself to that person and you are ready to take that next step and marry that person, to only have that person tell you, right before you surprise them with a proposal, that they no longer love you. how do i cope with this pain? Someone please help me.
Man… I don’t know what to say, but let me offer my sympathies. You need to get ahold of her and tell her waht you typed above: that you have it your all and that you have made a life with this person. Tell her to consider all the details involved in this.
If it doesn’t work, try to involve yourself in activities. You probably won’t want to speak to people or go out. You will probably feel sad all the time. RESIST THESE FEELINGS. Go out, play some basketball, go see a movie. Hang out with your friends. Ask them for company. If they are real friends they will help you through it. Do not become unsocial and stay in your room all the time thinking about it. It won’t help.
I hope things go the way you wish for them to go.
